Privacy Policy
Effective 1 November 2026
This policy covers TheTechSideExtensions: the Chrome extensions Upwork Job Scraper and Nepal Tenders, the server they talk to, and this website. "We" means the developer of TheTechSideExtensions. Contact: support@thetechside.org.
Data we collect
| Data | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google account ID, email address, name | Google sign-in (scopes openid email profile) |
To identify your account, keep your keywords and plan in sync across installs, and find your account when you contact us |
| Keywords you follow | You, in the extension settings | To fetch and show listings for those keywords |
| Your plan (Free or Pro) per extension, and its end date | Us, when a plan is granted | To apply the plan's limits and features |
| Sign-in sessions: a hashed session token, extension name and version, created and last-used times | The extension, when you sign in and use it | To keep you signed in and let you sign out |
| Request logs: extension name and version, which feature was used, response status and time, IP address | Our server host (Cloudflare) when the extension calls our server | To keep the service running, find errors, and limit abuse |
We don't collect your browsing history, the contents of pages you visit, your Upwork account, passwords or payment details. The extensions only talk to our server and to Google for sign-in.
Google user data
We request only the openid, email and profile
scopes. From your Google account we receive and store your Google account ID, email
address and name. We use them only for the purposes in the table above. We don't
request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or any other Google service.
We don't sell Google user data, don't use it for advertising, don't use it to train AI or machine learning models, and don't transfer it to anyone except as needed to run the service (our hosting provider, below), to comply with the law, or with your consent.
TheTechSideExtensions' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Keywords
Keywords are searched on public sites (Upwork's job search, and bolpatranepal.com's tender listing) by our scheduled job, which runs on GitHub Actions. That job receives the keywords only, never who follows them. When you add a keyword, the extension may suggest keywords other users follow; these suggestions never show who follows them. Don't use personal information as a keyword.
Data stored in your browser
The extension stores your session token, settings (such as how often to check), and recently fetched listings in Chrome's extension storage on your computer. It is removed when you uninstall the extension. Exported CSV or JSON files are saved to your computer only.
Extension permissions
- identity: to sign in with Google.
- storage: to keep your session, settings and listings on your computer.
- alarms: to check for new listings every few hours.
- notifications: to show alerts for new listings.
- downloads: to save the CSV or JSON files you export.
- Access to our server's address only; the extensions don't access other websites.
Who processes your data
- Cloudflare hosts our server, database and this website, and stores the data above.
- Google handles sign-in.
- GitHub runs the scheduled job that reads public listings; it receives keywords only.
We don't share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
- Your account (Google account ID, email, name, keywords, plan): until you ask us to delete it.
- Sessions: until you sign out, or until your account is deleted.
- Request logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period (days), then deleted.
- Listings: Upwork jobs for 30 days; tender notices until a day after their deadline (at most 60 days).
Your choices and deleting your data
- Unfollow keywords at any time in the extension settings.
- Sign out in the extension to end that session.
- To delete your account and all data linked to it, email support@thetechside.org from the Google account you signed in with. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.
- You can remove the extensions' access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Security
All traffic uses HTTPS. Session tokens are stored on our server only as hashes, and Google sign-in tokens are checked against Google's public keys before an account is used.
Children
The extensions are not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use Google user data, we'll ask for your consent first.
